Take your school or club team to South Africa on a sports tour with a difference. Play against local school and club teams and help coach sports to children on our township community projects, whilst having and amazing cultural experience.

We require a minimum of 10 people to join this tour. We can customise your itinerary depending on what you want. E.g if you do not want to play sport and would rather focus on coaching in the community to support our charitable activities then we can make that happen.

South Africa Sports Tour
A group sports tour can be one of the most fun, eye-opening and rewarding experiences to share with your teammates. We all know the power that sport has, and how it can bring people together. Tours not only create togetherness in groups and teams, but also uniting people from all backgrounds and cultures, who would never normally meet.

Our tailor made sports tours to South Africa are tours with a difference. By combining competitive sports matches, with community sports coaching, and excellent group excursions, we will provide your school or club team with an incredible sport and cultural experience.

Well-matched Fixtures
With our exceptional knowledge of the sports environment in South Africa, we will assess the local club and school teams in the area to make sure your competitive tour matches are perfectly matched to ensure games are closely contested.

There is no better way to build togetherness in a team than taking on the challenge of competing against new opposition in a completely new environment.

Community Coaching Projects
A tour to South Africa would not be complete without helping out on a community project in one of the many deprived township communities. As part of your sports tour your group or team will have the opportunity to coach, teach and mentor children and young adults from the local township areas. Each group member will have the opportunity to coach their chosen sport(s), transferring valuable knowledge onto the children. This is a fantastic opportunity to interact with the locals and give something back to the communities that your group visit during your time in South Africa. Expect lots of singing and dancing from the kids as they show their gratitude for your time and efforts.

Unbeatable Cultural Experiences
A key element of a successful tour is not only to experience sport in a new light, but to also bond as a team by experiencing a new culture. Throughout the tour your group or team will have the opportunity to tailor a range of cultural activities in order to soak up all that South Africa has to offer with regards to the country’s stunning natural environment, lively local customs and rich history.

Available sports:
Cricket
Football
Hockey
Netball
Rugby

Please note that our coaching in the community projects happen all year around. However, for playing sport you should aim to come between April and September for football, hockey, netball and rugby and for cricket between October to March.

Criminal Records Check
We require you to complete a criminal records check in order to take part in this experience. We can accept those that have been done in the last two years if you have the certificate. In the UK it can be done through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), in the USA further details can be found on Travel.State.Gov, otherwise please search for your local service provider. We may also request a reference from a reliable source. You must supply these to us before departure and also take a copy with you to present to the in-country team.

Why do we require a criminal background check?
1) Ensuring a safe environment is conducive to learning, productivity and overall positive experiences for everyone involved.

2) We implement thorough screening processes and we are committed to safety and integrity, fostering trust among participants and the local community.

3) Conducting background checks serves as a preventive measure, deterring individuals with questionable backgrounds from attempting to participate in our programme.

4) Safeguards vulnerable people from potential harm within the programme.

Example Itinerary
(B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner

This itinerary is an example to show you some of the activities that are possible. Please contact a member of our team to tailor a tour to your specifications.

Arrive in Port Elizabeth, where you will be met by a member of our team at the airport. Your group will then be taken back to the accommodation where you will receive an induction with a detailed itinerary of cultural activities and more information about the community projects and competitive matches. In the evening your group will be treated to a traditional welcome Braai (BBQ).

Your group will start the day with a guided tour of Port Elizabeth including the local township communities where your community projects will take place. Here your group will be able to meet the friendly local township kids.

The afternoon will see your group travelling for a 3–4 hour safari tour, soaking up all things wild.

This will be your first day on your community coaching project in the township, where your group will coach their chosen sport(s) to enthusiastic township kids from 09:00 – 16:00.

The evening will be a social evening in the accommodation where games and activities will be arranged for your group.

During the morning the group can be taken for a team training and captains run in preparation for your first competitive match in the evening.

The afternoon will be similar to day 3 where we will get you out working again on the community sports coaching projects in the township.

Early evening will be your first chance to show off your skills against the locals in a match that will see you stretched and challenged in your chosen sport. However competitive these games are you will still get a great deal of fun from them and make new friends in the process.

Beach Day – Today your group will travel to Jeffrey’s Bay, the world famous surf beach. There are lots of amazing activities to get involved in, including dune boarding, surf lessons and horse riding (these will come at an additional expense).

Much like day 4 your team will start their day with an early morning fitness session in preparation for an evening match against a local team where you can run through drills and tactics for the game ahead.

Late morning and afternoon you will be taken back out to the townships to continue having fun sports coaching sessions with the kids before your evening match.

Continuing the positive work you have been doing in the townships we will take you back out to run more fun coaching sessions with the kids. Additional work might be in helping prepare up-and-coming matches or developing new sports facilities for the kids to enjoy.

Previous groups have built and painted a new sports gym from a shipping container or run a sports day for kids from all over the area to attend where important health and educational messages can be taught. This session will be from 09:00 to 16:00.

After a tiring day you will head back to the accommodation for a Braai (BBQ) and various games and activities arranged for the group.

Free Day – This could be used to explore some of Port Elizabeth’s attractions, such as the Red Location museum to learn more about South Africa’s rich history and the harsh conditions many South African’s lived through during the apartheid years. You could also take a trip to the shops to pick up some souvenirs for family and friends back home.

The evening will be a social evening in the accommodation where games and activities will be arranged for your group.

In the morning your group will be taken to one of Port Elizabeth’s local markets, to pick up any souvenirs and bargains that you were not able to do on Day 8.

The afternoon will include a trip to a local beach where you can look for pods of dolphins and maybe the occasional whale.

Ready for your third competitive match your group will be taken on a fitness and team training session in the morning before an afternoon on your community projects in the townships. Smiling faces will greet you as you pull up at disadvantaged schools in our fun bus to continue building on the relationships you have with the kids there.

The evening will test your sports abilities again as you take on one of the local sports clubs for another competitive match, before an evening meal to celebrate the wins from your game!

If you are on a 10 day tour, this will be your last night and you will be taken to the airport the following morning for departure.

The morning will include a trip to Seaview Lion Park, known for their rare breed of White Lions, where getting up close to the wildlife is a must. For those more brave and adventurous types, the group will have a chance to hold a lion cub and learn important messages about local habitats and nature conservation.

The afternoon will include a trip to a Port Elizabeth beach (some of the best in South Africa) and the Boardwalk Shopping and Entertainment Centre where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

By now you will have formed strong bonds with the children you have been working with over the course of your trip.  This is a great time to plan a positive natural end to your time in the communities by organising a small sports tournament or festival to reward the kids for their hard work over the past two weeks and as a fun filled way to end your trip with a bang.

This will be your last day that you will go out to the townships and run your coaching sessions with the kids so it is bound to be an emotional one.

The evening will follow with your fourth and final competitive match so if you want to go out on a high then your team better win this!

Your final day of activities will include a day-long cruise down the stunning Sundays River. This is a fantastic opportunity to soak up the natural beauty of South Africa and relax after two weeks of hard and energetic fun.

Your final evening will include an outdoor Braai with entertainment provided by traditional African dancers and drumming helping see you off in style.

On saying your farewells to our South African team and packing up your newly acquired souvenirs, you will be taken to the airport ready to get your flight home.
