The most popular sports in St Lucia are Football, Netball and Cricket, with Rugby and Tennis gaining a recent surge in popularity.

A tailor-made sports tour to St Lucia is a sports tour with a difference, as we give our sports groups and teams the opportunity to not only play competitive matches against local teams and take part in some epic adventure activities, but also get to know the locals by assisting on a range of community sports coaching projects in local schools and community groups!

We have staff located on the ground in St Lucia that work closely with a range of schools and sports clubs in the capital, Castries and other areas across this small island. We are therefore able to assess the local teams in St Lucia to arrange well-matched, competitive fixtures against teams of varying age groups and abilities!

As part of your sports tour experience in St Lucia, you and your sports team will get the unique opportunity to meet amazing kids and young adults by coaching your chosen sport(s) on our hugely rewarding community coaching projects. From coaching after school clubs in the disadvantaged communities of Castries, to helping to rehabilitate youth offenders by coaching sports on our outreach programmes, this is an eye-opening opportunity to see more of this incredible island.

Cultural Experiences & Excursions
Although sport is the main focus of your trip to St Lucia, there is so much more to the island than just its passion for sport. As part of your experience, our team will help you to arrange a whole host of cultural, adventure and adrenaline-fuelled excursions to keep your team on their toes.

With a range of excursions available including zip-lining through the epic scenery, PADI scuba diving courses, hiking in the rainforests and resting weary muscles in the healing mud pools of Soufriere, there is so much to keep you entertained during your stay on this lively Caribbean island!

Criminal Records Check
We require you to complete a criminal records check in order to take part in this experience. We can accept those that have been done in the last two years if you have the certificate. In the UK it can be done through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), in the USA further details can be found on Travel.State.Gov, otherwise please search for your local service provider. We may also request a reference from a reliable source. You must supply these to us before departure and also take a copy with you to present to the in-country team.

This itinerary is an example to show you some of the activities that are possible. Please contact a member of our team to tailor a tour to your specifications.

Arrive at Hewanorra Int. Airport where you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members before the coach transfer back to accommodation for a short tour of the grounds including an approximately 5-minute walk down to local Eastwinds beach.

Following an induction and orientation to help your group settle into your surroundings, you will visit the island’s most popular beach and tourist area, Rodnay Bay – home of the Baywalk Shopping Mall, numerous bars and restaurants, water sports and Splash Island; an inflatable water park/obstacle course.

This will be your first chance to show off your skills as you compete against local teams in a play fixtures or mini tournament depending on sport, numbers and preference.

As with any visiting team fixture, expect a traditional ‘Lucian Lime’ after the match which will include music, food and social activities with the competing team.

A day trip to Pigeon Point: a beautiful, relaxing national park with rare wildlife, private beaches, hiking trails, historic forts, ruins and perfect viewpoints. Great for exploring and snorkelling!

Spend a day within our mass participation programme assisting our staff team in coaching fun inclusive sports sessions for children in an underprivileged community (after school or Summer Camp depending on the time of year, aged 6-12).

The following day, continue your community coaching within our partner preschool, using ‘Adventure Sport’ sessions; teaching basic motor skills through imaginative role-play.

On Day 5 your morning will be free, with available excursions including exploring the tranquil Mamiku Botanical Gardens and the Rainforest Adventures Aerial Tram (additional expense). Alternatively, you can relax at the beach, a 5-minute walk from the accommodation.

Day 6 evening will be your second match against well-matched opposition from the local area, this time under the lights!

This picturesque historic landmark was the site of a number of battles between the French and British navies, was famously the setting of the 1967 film; Doctor Dolittle, and is often described as “The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean”

If you are on a 7-day tour, this will be your last night and you will be taken to the airport the following morning for departure.

Enjoy the day’s catch, grilled fresh in local herbs and spices in the fishing village of Gros Islet before sampling the live music and atmosphere of the Gros Islet Friday Night ‘Jump Up’ street party.

Day free for excursions, options include: A trip around the island visiting the Pitons, Sulphur spring Mud Baths and waterfalls, stopping at important towns & sites along the way by either bus or boat. Or a challenging but achievable hike up one of the islands most iconic landmarks with views well worth the walk!

Compete against local teams in a mini tournament or play fixtures at a new venue before more postmatch festivities!

If you are on a 10-day tour, this will be your last night and you will be taken to the airport the following morning for departure.

Working with the school and community groups, your group will help to set up friendly matches and structured games for the kids to help develop their sports skills.

Morning activities can include trips to local beaches and visiting local markets.

In the morning, A chance to swing like Tarzan through the island’s vast rainforest, this consists of 12 treetop zip-lines, with incredible views along the way! (additional expense).

The afternoon will see you get your boots on for the final time as you take part in your last competitive match against well-matched local opposition. This as always, will also be an opportunity to have a meal with the players after the game to get to know the local team and share cultural values.

Relax in the morning whilst packing before being taken back to the airport to catch your international flight home.

Visa
British Nationals will not require a visa to enter St Lucia for up to 90 days.

Accommodation
Accommodation is based in a shared house with dorm-style rooms and all bed linen is provided. The accommodation is a large open plan guest house, only a few minute’s walk from the beach, making it the perfect base for a Caribbean adventure! There’s a large kitchen, sitting room and WIFI is available. Each bedroom has a shower and toilet and there are also laundry facilities.

Food
Breakfast and dinner is included (where stated) on a help yourself basis. Lunch can be prepared in groups or individually as there is a supermarket close by.

Airport Pick-Up
We will arrange transport from the airport on arrival in St Lucia so long as it falls on the start date. Any arrival times outside this will incur an additional charge.

Training
Full project induction and local orientation is given on arrival.

Support
Pre-departure help and advice; Local in-country team; 24-hour emergency support.

Donation
Part of your fee may be used to buy decent equipment for the project and community you work with. We also encourage you to bring any extra equipment that you are happy to give away but this will need to fall within your personal weight allowance with the airline you travel with.

Flights, Airport transfers in the UK, Visas (if applicable), Lunches and Dinners, Beverages, Tips, Entry tickets at excursions unless noted, Local/social related transport and activities, and Spending money.
