Team Hallam is the home of club sports and performance sports at Sheffield Hallam University.

Team Hallam’s clubs offer you the chance to play competitively in university sports leagues and tournaments, as well as annual Varsity competitions. There are 40 student-run sports clubs and Sheffield Hallam University has entered 65 teams into the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league programme for the 2021-22 season.

If you’re a student competing at a high level in your sport, you’ll get all the support you need through the Performance Athlete Support Programme.

Sheffield Hallam University has a proven history of nurturing professional sporting talent both on and off the field, some notable alumni include:

David Artell – professional football manager and former player who most recently was manager of EFL League Two club Crewe Alexandra.
Lee Blackett – English former rugby union footballer named Head Coach by Wasps during 2019–20. At the age of 30, Blackett became the youngest coach in the Championship in 2013 when Rotherham Titans appointed him.
Leon Taylor – British former competitive diver. During his diving career, he won medals at all major international events including a silver at the Athens Olympics.
